History

OntheNet was the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) on the Gold Coast. Established in early 1995, OntheNet has developed a strong local reputation for personal service and technical expertise.

Infrastructure

OntheNet is the first Queensland-based company to install Broadband ADSL and SHDSL Infrastructure into telephone exchanges. OntheNet is also the first non-Telstra company to offer it's own ADSL infrastructure to residential customers as well as business in Queensland. This infrastructure allows OntheNet substantial control and management of the broadband services, and therefore provides greater speed and reliability to its customers.

Services

OntheNet offers both Business and Personal Broadband plans at a range of very competitive rates. OntheNet also only charges customers for data they consume. This is in stark contrast to providers who also charge for data sent out by the customer, inflating the cost of their service.

For business customers with high availability needs, OntheNet can offer hardware and configuration to provide a near failsafe service. Utilising special equipment, business customers can stay online with full functionality, for only a once off cost of some additional hardware and setup. Utilising DSL technology to connect multiple sites together via a Network based VPN is also available from OntheNet. This service caters to the demand for faster inter-office communications and the growing need to share data across sites. Importantly it allows the business manager to implement networked systems for a fixed cost. Reducing the need for high cost VPN hardware and the lack of variable data costs are significant advantages of this service. Other technologies such as ISDN, Megalink (X.163), Frame Relay, ATM or Fibre connections can be included in the whole solution to cater for locations not yet able to have DSL provisioned or have particular Service Level requirements.
