Many customers have reported receiving misleading NBN telemarketing calls. Here are some tips for what to do if you receive such a call.
Tips for dealing with NBN telemarketers
- Ask them who they work for. If they will not tell you, or are hesitant to tell you, hang up the phone.
- Ask them if you are signing up for a service on the old network or the NBN. If they will not tell you, hang up the phone.
- If you are at all unsure, do not agree to anything and do not provide any personal information.
- Contact your current provider to confirm whether NBN is available at your premises & how long you have to switch.
Talk to OntheNet before you switch your phone line
Some OntheNet ADSL customers have had their internet service unexpectedly disconnected after agreeing to have their phone service switched to NBN before the Internet service, resulting in major inconveniences and unexpected charges. You can avoid this by switching your Internet service to NBN before your phone service. Click here for more information.
Check your NBN status in Toolbox
To check if your location is ready for NBN log in to the OntheNet Toolbox. If you see an ‘NBN Update’ on your Broadband service (like below) then your location is ready to connect to NBN. If you don’t see this in Toolbox but you’ve been notified that your location is ready for NBN please contact our Sales Team on 07 5553 9222 or sales@onthenet.com.au to clarify.
We will keep you updated
OntheNet has a direct relationship with NBN Co and receives regular rollout updates. We are actively notifying customers via email when NBN is available to order. For information about switching to NBN please contact our Sales Team or read our Frequently Asked Questions.
